In conjunction with the Scottish Connemara group, the Park will be open all that day free of charge to everyone.
This years crop of foals will be well grown and worth seeing .
A variety of ponies will be boxed and open to inspection.
A selected few ponies will be stabled and offered for sale.
Keep watching this space for more details

New Park Website.
Coming shortly our exciting new website including a realtime webcam for all the current developments around the Park.
We are now on line, so have a look!
Park News!
Queenie the spanish donkey gave birth this morning (18/5/07) to a fine filly foal .
The connemaras started foaling today as well.

DEATH OF A FRIEND

Sadly today 27/7/07 "Latke" had to be put down as a result of an horrific leg injury.
Ironically his progeny are now just coming to the fore.
Last week at St Boswells show two of his 3yr olds were 1st and 3rd in class and reserve champion.

New Stable Block.

Ready for the open day we managed to complete the new stable block just in time.

STALLIONS
The website has been under repair for a while, so there is lots of news to catch up with, more new pics to add  and this years foals to view, so keep looking over the next week or so.
After the death of "Latke" we had to decide where we were going in the future regarding a stud stallion, to give us a breathing space we borrowed Brian Jolly's connemara cross stallion "Baxter".
We have used him on the later foaled mares and the TB mares.

Open Day
Friday 24th August saw a steady stream of old friends visiting from early morning through to evening. We threw the Park gates open for everyone to have a good look around, with a total of 26 ponies stabled on the day it provided a great shop window for the breed to be seen by a wider audience. When we have the next one in 2 yrs time we might try having an auction sale again, but solely for connemaras, and open to visiting vendors.

Search for a stallion.
After Baxter had served the remaining mares we set about looking for a replacement stallion in earnest, wether to buy an established stallion, or look for a youngster  was the question. As events turned out the problem was easily resolved.A late night phone call led me to ring Vannessa Morgan, who was having to vacate her Grazeley stud and needed a home for her stallion "Elmore James".

ELMORE JAMES

Elmore James or "Jimmy" as he is better known around the stables, has settled in well to his new surroundings. He has been quietly introduced to a few mares for a short time in readiness for 2008 season when he will  "run" with his harem.

Jan 2008.
Happy New Year to all our followers.
Last years foals are all doing well in their new stables, giving us a chance to get them well handled.
Both Baxter and Polly have gone to new homes where they will be very happy.
After the success of our open days we have decided to go back to an on farm production sale similar to what we had in 2004.
The outline plan to date is to have an open evening, starting about 3.00pm, with an auction of selected registered ponies at around 7.00pm.
We will open the sale to outside ponies provided they are registered with the society and of selected quality.
The aim is to create a select sale in the North of England/Scotland, similar to those held in Ireland, but on a lot smaller and informal occasion.
Any suggestions will be welcome.
August 08.
It has been a long hectic summer, is it over already?
We have had a brilliant crop of foals, still one late mare to go.
Latke has left a legacy of some outstanding foals, ie a big dun colt out of a Smokey Duncan mare which will make a future stallion.
The cross bred stallion we used to follow up with has produced an amazing coloured colt out of our best mare.
Hopefully with some good weather I will get some nice pictures posted, so keep looking.
We have had a busy time selling ponies, as a result we have decided not to have a sale/open day.
However we always welcome visitors to have a look around.
One unusual feature is the interreaction between the ponies and the water buffalo, come and see for yourself.
